Childbirth Classes

We offer a full range of services, including information resources, prepared childbirth and lactation services, family counseling and community-wide programs on health-related issues and disease prevention.

Classes fill up quickly, so register early!

Hospital Tour: Register Here -- You will tour Phoebe's state-of-the-art Birthing Center and Mother/Baby Center. For more information, call 229-312-0053.

Childbirth Preparation: Register Here -- This is a class that gives the expectant couple an overview of labor and births, breathing and relaxation techniques, positions and massages, medications, coach’s role and expectations, baby characteristics and initial care, and what to expect after delivery. Please bring two pillows to class. You should start this class by 30 weeks gestation.

Breastfeeding Class: Register Here -- Healthcare experts agree that breastfeeding is the best way to feed your baby during the first year. In this class, you will learn techniques for good attachment, feeding cues, how to know baby is getting enough and much more. This is a class for both the soon-to-be mom and dad as well as grandparents.

Big Brother/Big Sister, Ages 1 to 3: Register Here -- A one-on-one designed specifically for the soon-to-be big brother/big sister younger than 4 years old. We will discuss their feelings, what to expect and how they can help mom and dad with the new baby. An age-appropriate video and activities are used. Children must be accompanied by an adult to the class and tour. Please bring a favorite newborn size doll or teddy bear and a baby picture of the child to the class.

Big Brother/Big Sister, Ages 4 to 10: Register Here -- This fun class is designed to prepare the big brother/big sister ages 4 - 10 for the arrival of their new baby brother or sister. An age-appropriate video and activities are used. We discuss their feelings related to the new baby, what to expect when the new baby gets here, and safety issues with a new baby. Children must have an adult accompany them to the class and tour. Please bring a favorite newborn-sized doll or teddy bear and a baby picture of the child to class.

Infant Choking & CPR: Register Here -- This class is designed to teach parents and grandparents the basics of resuscitating a choking infant.
