Get a Head Start on a Healthcare Career

The Phoebe Health Science Pathway is a partnership between Phoebe, 4C Academy, Albany Technical College, Albany State University, the Georgia Department of Education, the University System of Georgia, the Technical College System of Georgia and the Southern Regional Educational Board to help develop the next generation of health professionals. The program utilizes the Career, Technical and Agricultural Education standards to create an inclusive pathway, preparing high-school students for the healthcare industry. Students in this pathway learn hands-on skills, therapeutic communication, and critical thinking skills – while still in high school – to prepare them for the real world.

NSTEP Testimonial

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit and nursing students were unable to complete their hands-on clinical training, Phoebe created the innovative Nurse Simulation Training and Education Program (NSTEP) to fill in the gaps for new nurse graduates hired at Phoebe. NSTEP was so successful at making sure new nurses are prepared for the rigors of inpatient care that we made it standard for all our new nurses.

Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™

All new registered nurses with less than one year of experience hired at our Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, North Campus and Phoebe Worth Medical Center complete a one-year residency program designed to help them transition into practice. The program improves your skills, boosts your confidence and enhances the level of care our patients receive. It emphasizes critical thinking skills, leadership and communication, and incorporates evidence-based practice, patient outcomes and professional development.
