Mobile Wellness Clinics Launch 4-City Rotation
Albany, GA | February 1, 2024 – As part of its commitment to enhance access to quality healthcare throughout rural communities, Phoebe is launching a new outreach effort through its mobile wellness clinics. Phoebe’s “On the Road to Better Health” campaign will begin a four-city rotation in February, bringing essential health services directly to communities that need them.
“I’m new to Phoebe, but this kind of investment in programs to take services directly to the people and improve access to care is exactly what attracted me to Phoebe. Community outreach is important, and I want people to see those efforts as a hallmark of our outstanding network of providers at Phoebe Physicians,” said Estrellita Redmon, MD, President of Phoebe Physicians, the health system’s network of around 350 physicians and advanced practice providers.
Phoebe’s mobile wellness clinics truly are well-equipped doctor’s offices on wheels that can help bridge the gap for people in rural communities who may not have easy access to healthcare. The mobile clinics provide a range of vital health services, including:
- General health checkups and screenings
- Vaccinations
- Blood pressure and diabetes monitoring
- Health education and wellness advice
“We believe everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of where they live. Our ‘On the Road to Better Health’ initiative will help nurture healthier and more vibrant communities,” said Matthew Robertson, Phoebe Physicians Chief Administrative Officer. “When people see one of our mobile clinics rolling into their town, we want them to see it as a beacon of hope and health.”
The clinics will operate on a rotating monthly schedule, visiting Dollar Tree or Dollar General stores in the following cities.
- Montezuma – 1st and 3rd Monday
- Pelham – 2nd and 4th Tuesday
- Cuthbert – 1st and 3rd Wednesday
- Cordele – 2nd and 4th Thursday
“We encourage residents to take advantage of these services,” Dr. Redmon said. “Your health is our priority, and we want to ensure that quality healthcare is never out of reach.”
