Thoracic surgeons at Phoebe are acknowledged regional leaders in diagnosis and surgical treatment of non-cardiac diseases of the chest. Our surgeons are the region's most experienced in surgery for cancers of the lung, esophagus and chest wall. Working as part of a team with oncologists from the Phoebe Cancer Center, we are able to offer oncology patients a full continuum of diagnostics, surgical treatment and follow-up for cancer.

Together with oncologists and experts from other disciplines, this team approach allows us to bring a wide range of expertise and experience to bear on each patient's case. In addition to cancer, our thoracic surgeons provide surgical treatment for a broad range of disorders of the lung, esophagus and chest wall.

In many cases, we are able to utilize newer minimally invasive surgical procedures, including video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), resulting in less scarring and pain, as well as shorter recovery times.
