Know the Warning Signs

During a stroke, every minute counts and treatment is most effective when started right away.

  • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
  • Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
  • Sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
  • Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
  • Sudden, severe headache with no known cause

The BE FAST acronym is a simple way to remember the warning signs of a stroke and what to do.
