Moving Forward

Even as we continue to meet the challenges posed by COVID-19, we’re making sure we’re here to provide the other healthcare southwest Georgians need as well.  We have safely reopened services so you can receive the primary, specialty and surgical care you need, when you need it.  Go #InsidePhoebe to see how we’re moving forward.

Don't Delay Care

No one should delay necessary care out of fear of coronavirus. We are beginning to phase in medically necessary outpatient procedures, surgeries and diagnostic services that have been delayed during our COVID-19 response. See how we are ensuring your safety and striving to make your experience at Phoebe a great one.

99 Year-old Patient Discharge

We continue to celebrate with our COVID-19 patients when they get well enough to go home from our hospitals. This celebration was extra special. Maude Burke is just a few months shy of her 100th birthday! She is the oldest COVID-19 patient we’ve been able to discharge.

Shawndel Going Home

We celebrate the recovery of every COVID-19 patient who is able to go home from one of our hospitals. This discharge was especially meaningful for us. Shawndel is a valued member of the Phoebe Family who became critically ill from COVID-19.

Phoebe Worth Covid-19 Patient Discharge

On Sunday, April 5, we celebrated the discharge of a COVID-19 patient, Ms. Mary Wooden. Phoebe Family members lined the sidewalk cheering. We are thrilled that Ms. Wooden is doing well and will finish her recovery at home with family.

Hear How Mr. Jenkins is Recovering

We celebrated with Mr. Jenkins as he went home last week. He is the second patient who has recovered well enough to be discharged after being intubated and treated in one of our intensive care units. Hear how Mr. Jenkins is doing!

Heroes Truly Work Here

Everyday our Phoebe Family members show up, ready to fight the battle against COVID-19. Their resilience and dedication to serving our community is unwavering and inspriational. Heroes truly work here.

Saying Goodbye

One of the most heartbreaking aspects of the COVID-19 crisis is the fact that many families don’t have a chance to say goodbye to loved ones before they pass away.

COVID-19 Patient Goes Home

There is so much sadness and grim news surrounding COVID-19, here is something that will surely brighten your day. Late Thursday, the team on one of our COVID floors celebrated with Mr. Jenkins as he went home.

Georgia National Guard Support

Phoebe now has around 70 Georgia National Guard troops assisting with our COVID-19 response. Soliders and emergency medical technicians are helping staff our entrance screening locations.

Give Love Face Shields Donation

We are so grateful for the amazing support the Phoebe Family continues to receive from around the country. Academy Award winning actress Patricia Arquette is one of the many people who reached out to us offering assistance.

SCOUT Bag Donation

Two friends from Albany, Asher Davis (who works for SCOUT Bags) and Saville Sullivan started a GoFundMe account to raise money for nurses caring for COVID-19 patients. They raised more than $3,000 which allowed them to purchase 200 SCOUT bags and fill them with snacks.

Marketing Chalk Art

The Marketing & Communications Department decided to chalk the walk around the hospital. We hope this little gesture puts a smile on the faces of all Phoebe Family members fighting this virus as they enter and exit the hospital.

Thank You Singer!

Yesterday, we received a special delivery that might seem a little unusual for a hospital - sewing machines. Singer Sewing Company donated 10 heavy duty machines and 10 sergers to assist us with our face mask sewing efforts.

Thank you Phoebe from Sherwood

The love and support keeps pouring in and we could not be more grateful. Thank you Sherwood church for this video and words of encouragement!

Real-life Superheroes

Each day our healthcare workers are putting their lives on the line because they chose to help and care for others even in the worst of times. They are our real-life superheroes.

Volunteer Makes Masks

To deal with a critical supply shortage, Phoebe employees and volunteers are producing masks that will help protect our patients, physicians and staff during the COVID-19 health emergency. We appreciate the outpouring of support and offers for assistance from around the world.

Drive-Through COVID-19 Testing

In an effort to screen more patients for COVID-19 symptoms, Phoebe is expanding its coronavirus hotline and has opened a drive-through screening facility in Albany and Americus.

Drive-In Prayer Vigil

Words cannot describe how truly grateful we are for the support the community has shown us during this trying time - from prayers to words of encouragement. Thank you again to Hope City United Church for organizing last night's drive-in prayer vigil at our main campus.

Phoebe Fun Camp

We are so thankful to the many Phoebe Family members who came together to coordinate and get Phoebe Fun Camp off the ground. The camp is a safe option for children of employees who are working during this challenging time while schools are out. The children follow a schedule each day that includes academics, physical activity and arts & crafts. In additon, the children's health is montiored and temperatures are taken twice a day.
