Community Volunteers Needed for COVID Vaccination Boosters:

Over the last 18 months, the employees of Phoebe have been surrounded by support and encouragement by the communities we call home. We want to thank you for all that you’ve done for our patients and employees during this trying time.

Your support has meant the world to us, but we need your help again.

In the upcoming weeks, Phoebe is expecting an announcement regarding administration of a COVID-19 vaccine booster. The COVID-19 vaccines are our best protection against the virus. Booster shots will be available for individuals who received the vaccine early in the process to ‘boost’ their immunity against the different strains of the virus. Who is eligible and when the booster is available is information we are still waiting on from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Depending on the guidance from the federal government, we are planning for a mass vaccination effort starting toward the end of September and lasting through mid-October. The format and process flow of the mass site will be very similar to what was previously in place with the vaccination efforts. Exact dates and times will be determined after the final approval has been granted by the federal government. We will have mass vaccination sites in Albany, Americus and Sylvester.

This is where we need your help. We are looking for volunteers at each site to assist with administering vaccines and other operational needs. By volunteering you will be providing a life-saving opportunity for our communities. Any time you are able to contribute would be greatly appreciated. As a volunteer, you will receive an orientation regarding job duties and a tour of the facility.

To sign up to volunteer, please fill out this form. Once your form is completed and the confirmed schedule of the mass vaccination sites are set, we’ll reach out to you by phone or email to schedule your volunteer shift. Every attempt will be made to provide as much notice as possible, but we may also reach out to you to help fill slots at the last minute as needed.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our Volunteer Services Department at 229-312-4336.

Thank you for your ongoing support and service to our community.

Better Together!
