Albany, Ga. – As of Tuesday morning, these were Phoebe’s COVID-19 numbers:

  • Total COVID-19 Patients in Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital – 95
  • Total COVID-19 Patients in Phoebe Sumter Medical Center – 21
  • Total COVID-19 Patients in Phoebe Worth Medical Center – 2
  • Total Inpatients Recovered – 3,026
  • Total Positive Deaths from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital – 359
  • Total Positive Deaths from Phoebe Sumter – 91
  • Total Positive Deaths from Phoebe Worth – 1
  • Total Vaccines Administered – 63,160

“Since our last update on Friday, our COVID census has decreased by 15.  We are fortunate that transmission of the virus is slowing, and our average daily admission numbers are declining.  The hard truth, however, remains that we are losing too many of our friends and neighbors to this disease.  We have had 11 COVID deaths in our health system since Friday,” said Scott Steiner, Phoebe Putney Health System President and CEO.  “I continue to be amazed by the dedication and perseverance of the Phoebe Family.  Whether it has been opening additional intensive care units, standing up mass vaccination sites or quickly increasing our capacity to administer monoclonal antibody therapy, our people have risen to every challenge they have faced throughout this pandemic.  Their ongoing commitment to the communities we serve is to be commended, and we appreciate everyone throughout southwest Georgia who has taken the time to show thanks to our team,” Steiner said.
