Ellaville (January 15, 2014) -- Having quality, affordable health care close to home is important to all of us. Phoebe Sumter Primary Medicine at 72 South Broad Street, Ellaville, is providing health care for the entire family.

Julie Oliver, PA-C, and Samantha Montgomery, FNP-C, provide patient care, preventative care, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol at the Ellaville clinic. They also conduct school, work and DOT physicals, wellness exams, PAP smears, lab services and patient education.

Julie, whose mother, the former Mary Margaret Pilcher, was born and raised in Ellaville, is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia. She holds a physician assistant national certification.

Samantha, from the Milledgeville area, has also completed extensive education and is a certified family nurse practitioner. She worked in Albany for several years specializing in infectious diseases, prior to joining the Ellaville clinic. Both women are committed to practicing evidence-based medicine. “We want to get to the root of the problem and keep you healthy for life,” Julie said.

Whether it is administering vaccines to children and adults, or conducting health fairs, the staff at Phoebe Sumter Primary Medicine, Ellaville, has the backing and resources of Phoebe Putney Health System, one of the most comprehensive health systems in Georgia.

While the Ellaville clinic is one of only six designated Georgia Farmworker Health Program sites and provides additional resources for migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their families, there is a common misconception that the clinic only treats farming families. “We treat all ages and everyone who walks through our doors, no matter what they do for a living – teachers, bankers, housewives, students, or farmers,” Julie explained.

Phoebe Sumter Primary Medicine, Ellaville accepts Medicare, Georgia Better Health Care Program (GBHC), Peach State Health Plan, Wellcare Health Plans, Inc. and all commercial insurance. Sliding fees are available to uninsured patients. Appointments are preferred, but walk-in patients are welcome. Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday hours are from 8 a.m. to noon.
