  • Total COVID-19 Patients in Phoebe Sumter Medical Center – 14
  • Total COVID-19 Patients in Phoebe Worth Medical Center – 0
  • Total Inpatients Recovered – 1,488
  • Total Positive Deaths from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital – 174
  • Total Positive Deaths from Phoebe Sumter – 45
  • Total People Vaccinated – 147

“This has been an exciting week, as we received our first shipments of COVID-19 vaccine. We began administering vaccinations Thursday afternoon at our main and Phoebe Worth campuses, giving 147 shots. We expect that number to rise quickly as we complete a full day of vaccinations Friday and expand our vaccination capacity. We encourage everyone to receive a vaccination as soon as they are eligible to do so, as that will be the quickest and most effective way to defeat this virus,” said Scott Steiner, Phoebe Putney Health System President & CEO. “Even with the end of the pandemic in sight, some of the worst weeks could be yet to come. We had 10 COVID-19 admissions in Albany Wednesday, the first double digit day since July 27. As we wait for widespread immunity to take hold, we must remain as vigilant as ever. Holiday gatherings should remain small, and everyone should follow the safety protocols we are so familiar with. It’s the right thing to do to protect yourself, your family and your community” Steiner added.
