Phoebe Sumter to Host Annual Women’s Health Fair May 18


~ Dominique Dawes, Olympic Medal-winning Gymnast, to be keynote speaker ~

Americus, Ga. – Dominique Dawes, four-time Olympic Medal-winning Gymnast, will headline Phoebe Sumter Medical Center’s annual Women’s Health Fair on Saturday, May 18. The event, which is free and open to the public, will also include health screenings, information booths and physician-led sessions on women’s health.

Dominique Dawes won Olympic gold. But, for her, success is so much more than medals and accolades; it’s something she worked hard to achieve everyday en route to Olympic glory. During the Women’s Health Fair, she will share her personal and professional philosophy which includes her motto “D-3”—Determination, Dedication, Desire. This motto it what has given her the strength and confidence to handle the professional and personal challenges in her life, to persevere amidst defeat and triumph in victory. Dawes will show attendees how to envision and use D-3 to reformulate negative situations into positive ones and turn obstacles into victories – all while clearly demonstrating that success is a journey, not just a destination.
