Visiting Phoebe North

Hospital Visitation Policy

Phoebe continues to monitor the number of COVID-19 cases in our community and modify our policies and procedures as appropriate.

Based on an increase in COVID-19 activity throughout Georgia and revised guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we have re-instituted mandatory temperature checks and screening questions for patients and visitors entering all Phoebe facilities. We continue to require everyone to wear masks in our hospitals, clinics and offices, and we encourage everyone to mask up anytime they are in public.

  • Visiting Hours for non-COVID-19 patients: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

  • Visitation for COVID-19 patients must be scheduled.

Visitation Guidelines for All Patients:

  • All visitors are required to wear a mask at all times. If you don’t have one, one will be provided.
  • All visitors will be screened prior to entering the facility.
  • One visitor allowed at a time for each patient.
  • If visiting a patient who has been admitted to the hospital, please enter/exit through the main entrance.
  • All visitors will be asked to sign in and out.
  • Visitors may access cafeteria and concession areas, but otherwise should remain in the clinical unit they are visiting.

Visitation Guidelines for Non-COVID-19 Patients:

  • If needed, one caregiver is allowed to stay overnight.

Visitation Guidelines for COVID-19 Patients:

  • Patients that are being cared for in the modular units will not be eligible for visitation.
  • Each patient will be evaluated by a physician to determine eligibility for visitation. If the patient is eligible, the patient’s nurse will contact family to make arrangements.
  • Visits must be scheduled with the nurse.
  • One designated family member may schedule two visits per week, 30 minutes each.
  • All visitors must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment, which will be provided at visit.

Below exceptions may apply:

  • Patients at the end of life.
  • Minors under age 18 may have two parents or guardians.

Please note: Children under the age of 18 are not allowed to visit except in end-of-life cases and births of siblings. It is also strongly recommended (for their own safety) that people over age 65, anyone with a chronic medical condition and pregnant women do not visit the hospital except to receive care.

We appreciate your support and patience as we work to protect our patients, visitors and community. Please know all decisions are made with safety as our top priority and modifications will be made to the visitation policy as appropriate.
