Visiting Phoebe North

Hospital Visitation Policy

Phoebe continues to monitor the number of COVID-19 cases in our community and modify our policies and procedures as appropriate.  We are thankful for the drastic decline in recent weeks and are cautiously and safely beginning to allow a limited number of visitors for Non-COVID-19 patients.

Visiting Hours: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Visitation Guidelines for Non-COVID-19 Patients:

  • One visitor allowed at a time for each patient.
  • One visitor allowed per day for each surgical patient (inpatient and outpatient).
  • If visiting a patient who has been admitted to the hospital, please enter/exit through the main entrance.
  • If visiting/accompanying a patient for outpatient surgery or an appointment in one of the Medical Towers, please enter/exit through the Medical Tower entrance.
  • All visitors will be asked to sign in and out.
  • All visitors will be screened prior to entering the facility.
  • All visitors are required to wear a mask at all times. If you do not have one, one will be provided.
  • Visitors may access cafeteria and concession areas, but otherwise should remain in the clinical unit they are visiting.

Below exceptions may apply:

  • Patients at the end of life.
  • Obstetric patients may have one partner and a birth supporter during delivery and one partner and two visitors after delivery during visiting hours.
  • NICU patients may have one birth parent plus a significant other.
  • Minors under age 18 may have two parents or guardians.
  • Patients who require assistance may have one caregiver.

Please note: Children under the age of 18 are not allowed to visit except in end-of-life cases and births of  siblings. It is also strongly recommended (for their own safety) that people over age 65, anyone with a chronic medical condition and pregnant women do not visit the hospital except to receive care.

Outpatient Diagnostic Procedures and Emergency Room Visitation:

For the safety of our patients, staff and community, visitation restrictions will continue for Outpatient Diagnostic Procedures and ER patients. Visitors are only allowed to accompany minors and patients who require  assistance from a caregiver. Facility modifications are underway in the ER to provide more space, which will allow us to resume limited visitation in approximately 60 days.

We appreciate your support and patience as we work to protect our patients, visitors and community. Please know all decisions are made with safety as our top priority and modifications will be  made to the visitation policy as appropriate.

“We understand how difficult it has been for patients not to be able to have their loved ones with them at their bedside over the last few months, but we had to restrict visitation for their own protection and to help minimize transmission of coronavirus. Families play a vital role in care and healing. We appreciate their understanding during our COVID-19 response, and we look forward to working with them closely as we move forward and begin to reopen visitation in all of our hospitals,” Dr. Kitchen said.
