When Leon Dent was a child growing up in Albany, he would often walk by the office of trailblazing African American physician Dr. Carl Gordon and dream of following in his footsteps. Dr. Dent grew up to become an accomplished trauma surgeon who has trained and worked in some of the largest and most respected hospitals in the country. Now, he’s back in Albany to lead Phoebe’s journey to become a state-designated Level II Trauma Center. He is thrilled to be serving the community he loves, and we are exceedingly fortunate to have such a fine man and outstanding physician as part of the Phoebe Family.
