Interim Chief Medical Officer

Dr. James E. “Eddie” Black is the Interim Chief medical Officer and Medical Director of Emergency Services at Phoebe. An Albany native, he is dedicated to serving his southwest Georgia and ensuring residents in the area have access to emergency care. Prior to joining Phoebe, Dr. Black served as an officer in the Navy from 1995 to 2000. He earned his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his residency at University of South Florida, Tampa General Hospital.
