Dawn Benson

General Counsel

Dawn Benson is a Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Phoebe and is responsible for oversight and guidance of legal matters affecting facilities and organizations of Phoebe. Dawn’s extensive healthcare regulatory and legal experience comes from a 27-year career as a litigation partner with Watson Spence LLP, focused extensively on medical liability defense work, healthcare law and employment law.

Dawn obtained a juris doctorate with high honors from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill, NC. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Dougherty Circuit Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association and is the former chair of the Georgia Commission on Alternative Dispute Resolution by appointment of the Georgia Supreme Court, as well as a former member of the Attorney Discipline Grievance Committee by appointment of the U.S. District Court.

She and her husband, Ken, have two children.
