Education Partners

Phoebe is a statewide leader in healthcare workforce development. Our innovative education partnerships are creating an expanded pipeline for nurses and other healthcare professionals. Through Phoebe’s robust offerings, area college students studying nursing, physical therapy and other medical-related fields experience real-world clinical training under the direction of a highly qualified team at the Phoebe Simulation & Innovation Center.

Nursing Schools

Phoebe has recently invested around $1 million to address the nursing shortage by partnering with area institutions of higher learning.  We are funding faculty positions and scholarships to enable the schools to admit, educate and graduate more nursing students.  We are even extending our partnerships to the secondary school level, working with 4C Academy, Lee County High School and other schools to build an interest in healthcare careers in students at an early age and give them opportunities for hands-on learning.

Medical College of Georgia

The Southwest Campus of the Medical College of Georgia is based on Phoebe’s main campus in Albany.  It was the first campus of the MCG statewide education network.  Third and fourth year medical students work with more than 140 volunteer physicians to complete clinical rotations in multiple specialties.

UGA College of Pharmacy

The Southwest Clinical Campus of the UGA College of Pharmacy opened at Phoebe in 2011.  After two years in Athens, students spend two years in Albany training with full-time UGA Clinical Faculty and with around 70 pharmacy preceptors at hospitals, community pharmacies and other facilities around the region.
