Neurodiagnostic Services at Phoebe

Phoebe's Neurodiagnostics department helps diagnose patients with seizure, psychological, vestibular, and nerve and muscle disorders all in a relaxed environment.

Patients receive one-on-one attention from trained technicians. Our technicians educate patients before, during and after procedures to ensure patient understanding of the procedure. All procedures are noninvasive and include:

EEG (Electroencephalogram)

An EEG, also known as a brain wave test, graphs the electrical activity of the brain. This test is used to evaluate sleep disorders, seizure disorders, confusion, brain tumors, head injuries, degenerative diseases, and metabolic or chemical disturbances that affect the brain.

NCV (Nerve Conduction Velocity Test)

An NCV graphs the speed of a nerve impulse to determine the exact site and severity of nerve entrapment. This test is used to diagnose a wide range of peripheral nervous system disorders from sciatic nerve dysfunction to carpal tunnel syndrome.

EMG (Electromyography)

An EMG is used to test the electrical activity of a muscle to detect any disorders that affect mainly skeletal muscles. This test can also diagnose muscle problems caused by diseases, such as nerve dysfunction and peripheral nerve damage.

ENG (Electronystagnography Vestibular Test)

ENG tests the working of the inner brain to help diagnose peripheral and central vestibular disorders which cause vertigo (dizziness) and imbalance.
