2018 Men's Health Fair

Join us Saturday, June 16 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Albany State University’s HPER Gym, for our FREE Men's Health Fair! This year’s theme, Real Men Can Cook, will focus on helping men, of all ages, learn how to make healthier food choices.

"It is the summertime, and men are grilling," Darrell Sabbs, community benefits coordinator at Phoebe, said. "We thought a focus on nutrition, healthy eating and healthy cooking would be of interest to area men."

In addition to free health screenings and physician presentations, local chefs will be onsite to provide tips and cooking demonstrations. This year’s fair will also feature Taste of the Town. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy samplings of healthy menu items from favorite local restaurants, including: Albany Fish Company, Albany Tech Culinary, Billy Boys BBQ, BJ’s, Farmer Fredo, Harvest Moon, Olive Garden, Outback, The Rocket, Rollin Smoke BBQ, and more.

Free Health Screenings include:

  • blood pressure
  • cholesterol
  • diabetes

Other presenters include Dr. James Black, Medical Director for Emergency Services, and Dr. Adam Jones, of Radiation Oncology Associates. The Men’s Health Fair is free and open to the public.
